The Bible’s Definition of Love

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. A Prayer for Love

Dear God,

I humbly come before you today with a heart that desires to love you more deeply, my neighbor more selflessly, my church more diligently, and my enemies as Christ loved me.

Help me to remember that you are the source of all love and to draw from that well each day. Give me the strength and courage to love others even when it is difficult or when they do not deserve it. Help me to see the beauty and worth in each person, just as Christ saw it in me.

I pray that my love for you and for others would overflow in my actions and words, and that I would be a shining example of your love to those around me.
